Azoter
Unconventional sources of nitrogen for plant nutrition
The Atmosphere offers to universe dimensionless, un-exhaustible mass of nitrogen. We can say that there is at about 75 000 tonnes of nitrogen above the area of every hectare in the air/N 2/. Only a few types of bacteria / at about 50/ and soil layers have got enzyme apparatus which makes possible to use molecular nitrogen/ N2/ The other parts of organisms use in soil bounded nitrogen either mineral or organic: Azotobacter chrooccum is one of feral bacteria with ability to fix the air nitrogen symbiotically. But to do so, it is needed to create optimal soil conditions.
It is strictly aerobic, that is why it occurs only in aerated and appropriately humid soil. The most suitable is small cloddish structure soil with neutral as far as alkaline reactions. In soil with pH lower than 5, it is appeared only sporadically and fixation of atmospheric nitrogen is highly limited. As a source of carbon and energy some different organic compounds of organic humus, monosaccharides and disaccharides, some polysaccharides, organic acids, alcohols and the others are used.
Hardly decomposable humus substances are not used in AZOTERM that is why it is reproduced worse in soils with high contain of consistent humus. Its intensive reproduction starts only after fertilisation by straw/haulm/, straw stall manure and composts with higher volumes of cellulose.
In spite of atmospheric nitrogen Azotobacter uses also nitrogen amoniacal NH4, nitrate NO3, nitrite NO2, carbamide, and amino acids. If there are sufficient amounts of these sources in the soil, airy nitrogen bounded by azeroterm shall be limited. Azobacter is very important because of the fact that the product of its metabolism are vitamins B , nicotinic acid, pantothenic acid, biotine, heteroauxin, gibberellin and the other useful substances which stimulate plants germination and their growth. Azobacteria antagonism is very important towards some vegetal pathogens, especially towards representatives of Fusarium , Alternária and Penicillum, which induce different fungus diseases. Its presence in soil extensively eliminates incidence of the above mentioned diseases.
Nowadays the product Azoter is registered by the Slovak Testing Institute, as a secondary indirect soil ecological fertilizer. It is registered under the same name in Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary.
Influence and effectiveness of this biological fertilizer upon maize crop , hybrid Monalisa were tested under the condition of the co-operative ZAD Dvory nad Žitavou in last two years.
The testing sample / variant 1/ related to the content of nitrogen in the soil, was fertilized with the dosage of 195 kg.ha-1 nitrogen in 1999 and in the year of 2000 it was fertilized with a dosage of 150 kg.ha-1 nitrogen. The dosage of AZOTER was the same in both cases, it means 10l ha-1.
All results of using AZOTER are shown in Table 1.
Following these results we can see, that 10l ha-1 of AZOTER fertilizer shall provide the same(11,84t.ha-1) even higher crops than 195 kg.ha-1 nitrogen(11,41t.ha-1 or 10,48t.ha-1).
During these two experimental years the crop of maize in case of AZOTER application was 11,49t.ha-1 in average , it means by 0.55t.ha-1 more than in case of fertilization with 172.5 kg.ha-1 of nitrogen.
As it is shown in Table 1 application of AZOTER is positively manifested in revenues for grain maize, too.
Average annual revenues for the crops of grain maize from the tested field where AZOTER was used , achieved the amount of 34 470 SKK.ha-1 , in case of tested field where nitrogen was used as a fertilizer , they achieved the amount of 32 820 SKK.
ha-1. After deduction of expenses for fertilizers, 900 SKK. ha-1. for AZOTER and 2 242.5 SKK .ha-1 for nitrogen, the net revenues from grain maize are 33 750 SKK ha-1 and 30 578 SKK ha-1, it means almost 3000 SKK ha-1 more in favour of biological fertilizer AZOTER.
By the crops of grain maize from the testing field where the fertilizer AZOTERM was used during these two experimental years , nitrogen was stripped in average by 297 kg ha-1 and from the testing field where the nitrogen fertilizer was used , nitrogen was stripped in average by 285 kg ha-1
Further at about 140 kg ha-1 of nitrogen was cumulated in after crop remains of maize /roots, maize cobs/.
Resulting statement of stripped nitrogen and after crop remains do, in case of field fertilized with AZOTER 437 kg ha-1 and in case of field fertilized with nitrogen 425 kg ha-1. At the same time the content of total and inorganic nitrogen in soil after the crops in case of both testing fields are the same.
Nowadays analytical technology do not make possible exact quantification asymbiotically accumulated nitrogen supported by AZOTER. That is why we have chosen empirical calculation. Providing, that by mineralization of organic mass in soil in both cases of fertilization, the same amount of nitrogen(425-172.5) 252.5 kg.ha-1, were released, then AZOTER(variant 1) accumulated(437-252.5) 184.5 kg.ha-1
of atmospheric nitrogen and so it replaced the high dosage of nitrogen from industrial fertilizer.
Our co-operative farm has got rich experience with application of AZOTER. Every year we use this substance on the area of at about 1500 ha plough land. As a source of nitrogen , it is suitable for maize growing up as well as for silage, sunflower, spring grain crop and it can be used as a crop-spraying for after crop remains with consecutive plough-into soil.

AZOTER
Specifications
Fertility and natural disease-resistance of cultivated plants mostly depend on number and structure of micro- organisms in soil.
Results of nowadays researches draw our attention to the fact, that bacterial micro- organisms so important for soil are gradually destructed. The high volumes of these essential micro- organisms which provide natural nitrogen were reduced. The same situation is observed in cellulose-fermenting bacteria. Due to this situation, natural micro biological process of bounded phosphorus releasing into soil is being slow- downed.
To create better condition for improving the relationship between micro organisms/ metabiosis/ and to enrich the soil with natural nitrogen and phosphorus by this way, do not hesitate and use the auxiliary soil substrate AZOTER.
AZOTER is a liquid substrate which works on the base of natural micro organisms- bacteria activities. It is generally used for soil preparation before its cultivation. With its existence in soil, AZOTER creates sufficient volume of nitrogen and phosphorus and because of the above mentioned facts classical industrial N and P fertilizers may be replaced by it.
We recommend you to use AZOTER in agricultural corporations,to private farmers as well as to gardeners where the content of humus in soil is represented by min. 1-2 % and the pH factor is represented by values of 5.8 - 8.5 .
AZOTER is used in case of maize, sugar beet, sunflower, winter crop, vegetables and flowers.
Properties and chemistry
AZOTER is a grey, thick liquid with molasses smell, typical for this substrate.
- Azotobacter croococcum – bounds airy nitrogen and enriches the soil with nitrogen by this way, regularly supplies root system with nitrogen during the whole vegetation period.
- Azospirullium brasiliense – the same typical properties as could be found in case of Azotobacter croococcum, but better bears temperatures above 30°C, it means that it is able to supply root system with nitrogen in hot summer months.
- Bacillus megatherium – after multiplying of this micro organism in soil, the root system of plant is able to accept mobilized phosphorus which exists in soil, but for plant in inaccessible forms.
- Risk agents – cadmium, lead, mercury, arsenic, chromium - according to the laboratory tests they meet all conditions of certification and also condition of ecological agriculture.
Application and dosage
AZOTER is used before soil cultivation, it means 10-14 days before seeding. Under the higher temperatures, at above 20°C, it is needed to plough this substrate into the soil within 3-4 hours not to exhibit micro organisms to strong sunshine for a long time. It is applied by irrigators which irrigate the above mentioned substrate on soil surface. It is diluted with water within rates 1:30 – 1:50 l ,in dependence on irrigating mechanisms. Substrate is good mixed, it means, it is possible to mix it and apply with herbicides and fungicides except of those which contain bactericidal agents.
We recommend you the dosage of 10l per 1 ha (min. 300l prepared solution per 1 ha, indeed). Presented dosages guarantee you high efficiency of the above mentioned substrate so the classical industrial fertilizers may be replaced by AZOTER under the same or even better condition. In case of dosages mentioned above, Azotobacter and Azospitillium regularly bound nitrogen and supply the root system of plant with it. The volume of by this way earned nitrogen corresponds with at about 130-150 kg of nitrogen in pure nutrients.
By the very similar system Bacillus meghaterium releases bounded phosphorus in soil and enables the crop to access in this way earned phosphorus correspond with at about 60-80 kg of phosphorus in pure nutrients.
Delivery and packing
AZOTER is delivered in 50l and 60 l returnable plastics/ PVC/ barrels which are marked by labels. Product has to be stored in dry, cold and ventilated spaces . Keep it away from consumable, feed, pharmaceuticals and packages of these substances.
In case of a long-time storing till 3 month it is needed to provide temperature up to 5°C in store spaces.
AZOTER guarantee period is 90 days from the date of a product discharging .
Safety and protection in service
Manipulation with AZOTER is safe and does not need any special arrangements. After finishing manipulation with substrate it is enough to wash yourself with soap and hot water. AZOTER was approved by Ministry of Agriculture for using in ecological agriculture. Number of Certificate: SKTC 107 08W0010.
